CA40 – Command and Intelligence Systems

CA40 is a command and intelligent systems program of the Australian Department of Defence, specifically focused on developing advanced information systems for command and control of military operations.

What is CA40 doing:

  • Provides advanced command and intelligent systems to the Australian Defence Force 
  • Refresh psychological operations and imagery specialist equipment 
  • Provides maps for ADF land forces, including maintaining databases.  
  • Software processes and analyses information to generate actionable intelligence used by commanders to make informed decisions. 

Why CA40 is needed: 

  • Ensures ADF forces have suitable maps to enable situational awareness and navigation 
  • Supports psychological operations and media relations on operations 
  • Allows deployed forces to capture imagery and reproduce for strategic and tactical purposes in the deployed environment.
