LAND 1771 – Geospatial Support System

LAND1771 is a defence project aimed at modernising land geospatial and survey capabilities for the Australian Defence Force. It introduces an Army Geospatial Support System to collect, manage, analyse, and disseminate geospatial data, improving terrain understanding, situational awareness, navigation, and mission management on domestic and overseas operations.

What is LAND1771 is doing:

  • Introducing the Army Geospatial Support System to collect, manage, analyse and disseminate geospatial data and imagery 
  • Modernising and enhancing the geospatial and survey capabilities for the joint land force. 
  • Delivering a common fleet of computer systems for enhanced connectivity and interoperability. 
  • Deploying scalable and agile teams capable of both connected and disconnected communication environments.

  • Improve rapid terrain understanding and situational awareness for better decision making.
  • Modernise land geospatial and survey capabilities for the joint land force.
  • Collect, manage, analyse and disseminate geospatial data and imagery more effectively.
